Five Automatic Silver Contact Welding Workstations Shipped to Mexico

On July 25, 2026, HAIFEI completed the loading and dispatch of five automatic silver contact welding workstations. The equipment is being shipped to Mexico, where it will be used for the automated production of low-voltage electrical components.
The project was developed around the customer’s component design, silver contact specifications, weld quality requirements and target production rate. Before shipment, the HAIFEI project team completed machine assembly, electrical commissioning, sample welding trials and continuous operation testing. The equipment was packed and dispatched after the agreed pre-shipment requirements had been verified.
An Automated Production Solution for Silver Contact Welding
Silver contacts are widely used in circuit breakers, contactors, relays, switches and other low-voltage electrical products. The quality of the joint between the silver contact and its metal carrier directly affects mechanical strength, electrical conductivity and long-term operating reliability.
In conventional production, operators often load and position the silver contacts and carrier components manually. Because silver contacts are relatively small, welding consistency can be affected by contact orientation, positioning accuracy and operator experience. Manual handling can also make it difficult to maintain a consistent production cycle.
The five workstations supplied for this project integrate component feeding, positioning, clamping, welding and unloading into a coordinated production sequence. This reduces manual handling and repeated positioning between processes while allowing each operation to run according to the programmed cycle.
The feeding system, positioning fixtures, welding power source and other workstation functions are configured according to the actual components. Differences in silver contact size, shape, carrier material and weld location require corresponding changes to the machine structure, tooling and welding parameters.
Designed and Commissioned Around the Customer’s Components
An automatic silver contact welding project requires more than selecting a suitable welding power source. Feeding, positioning, clamping and welding must operate in the correct sequence. A deviation at any stage may affect the weld location, joint quality or production cycle.
During the project, the HAIFEI team completed the following work based on the customer’s drawings, components and production requirements:
- Reviewed the materials, dimensions and orientation of the silver contacts and carrier components
- Developed the automatic feeding and positioning system around the component geometry
- Designed positioning fixtures and welding tooling for the customer’s products
- Conducted welding trials with actual samples to establish suitable welding current, electrode force and weld time
- Adjusted the sequence between feeding, clamping, welding and unloading
- Checked the workstation cycle time and continuous operating condition
- Completed final machine commissioning and pre-shipment inspection according to the agreed requirements
For custom welding automation, sample testing is an essential part of confirming the proposed process. In addition to inspecting weld position and surface condition, the samples should be evaluated for joint strength, dimensional accuracy, electrical performance and consistency under continuous production conditions.
Pre-Shipment Inspection and Export Packaging Completed
After commissioning, all five automatic silver contact welding workstations underwent a pre-shipment inspection covering mechanical operation, electrical controls, safety guards, accompanying accessories and package identification.
As the equipment will travel over a long international shipping route, the machine frames, moving assemblies and accompanying components were secured and protected to reduce the risk of damage caused by vibration, moisture or impact during transportation.
After the equipment arrives in Mexico, HAIFEI will provide installation guidance, operator training and welding process support in accordance with the project agreement, helping the customer prepare the workstations for production.
Supporting Overseas Low-Voltage Electrical Manufacturing Projects
The shipment of these five automatic silver contact welding workstations to Mexico represents another overseas delivery by HAIFEI in the field of low-voltage electrical component welding and custom welding automation.
For an international automation project, welding performance is only one part of the overall evaluation. The customer’s product range, factory utilities, operating practices, required production rate and future maintenance needs must also be considered during the engineering stage.

The HAIFEI engineering team will use this information to evaluate the welding process, machine capacity, automatic feeding method, tooling design and required automation configuration. Welding trials using the customer’s actual materials can then be conducted to confirm process feasibility.
